Many different kind of people live and visit Portland, Oregon. As I’ve lived in a few places in the US, I feel Portland is pretty cool with mixed culture, and many people keep their own culture and their roots. That is one of the reasons of why I love Portland, OR. I have been photographing different cultures and color of people at my Hood Artistry Photography Studio. Here are some images of a Japanese Kimono Photo Session. This session was concluded with our 3 panel folio as a keepsake.

The Session

Every Kimono has different patterns and depending on the styling level of the Kimono, there are different aspects of beauty in the outfit. According with those aspects, I planed out poses for the Kimono session. The makeup is included in this session and, she wore makeup to emphasize her natural beauty. I think it turned out pretty nicely. This session was for her retirement celebration and birthday. She was an owner of a medical related business for over 45 years and in the industry for 50 years. I often photograph women who have been devoting themself to others with so many stories. I am glad to celebrate with her!
